Nel 1955, a Genova, Lia Gambetta trasformò un dono speciale – una piccola macchina per maglieria ricevuta dai genitori – in un'impresa di successo. Spinta da un innato spirito imprenditoriale e da una passione autentica per l’artigianato, ha dato vita a Liapull Cashmere, un’azienda destinata a diventare simbolo di eccellenza nel mondo della maglieria italiana.
Inizialmente, Liapull crea i suoi capi avvalendosi di filati basici come la lana e il mohair, per poi passare a materiali più pregiati, primo tra tutti il cashmere. La determinazione, la creatività e la visione lungimirante di Lia l’hanno aiutata a costruire nel tempo non solo un’impresa, ma un luogo in cui il talento si tramanda come un filo prezioso, intessuto tra le mani e i ricordi di generazioni.
I figli Fiorella e Mirko Ghignone collaborano con lei negli anni, contribuendo con la loro energia e creatività a far evolvere l’identità dell’azienda fondando nel 1994 il marchio Avant Toi, che diviene presto precursore nella sperimentazione di nuove tecniche di lavorazione del cashmere.
La nipote di Lia, Giulia Marini, rappresenta la terza generazione dedita a portare avanti questa tradizione di famiglia. Oggi guidano insieme un'azienda con 70 anni di storia e i cui prodotti sono venduti in tutto il mondo, confermando l’eccellenza di Liapull Cashmere nel panorama del Made in Italy.

In 1955, in Genoa, Lia Gambetta turned a special gift - a small knitting machine received from her parents - into a successful business. Driven by an innate entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine passion for craftsmanship, she founded Liapull Cashmere, a company destined to become a symbol of excellence in the world of Italian knitwear.

Initially, Liapull created its garments using basic yarns such as wool and mohair, eventually moving on to finer materials, with cashmere leading the way. Lia’s determination, creativity, and forward-thinking vision helped her build not just a company over time, but a place where talent is passed down like a precious thread, woven through the hands and memories of generations.

Her children, Fiorella and Mirko Ghignone, worked alongside her over the years, contributing their energy and creativity to evolve the company’s identity. In 1994, they founded the brand Avant Toi, which soon became a pioneer in the experimentation of new techniques for working with cashmere.

Lia’s granddaughter, Giulia Marini, represents the third generation devoted to carrying on this family tradition. Today, they lead a company with 70 years of history, whose products are sold worldwide, reaffirming Liapull Cashmere’s excellence in the landscape of Made in Italy.
